Newer MacBooks
On Apple silicon and recent Intel MacBooks, the storage is soldered to the logic board and encrypted with the board's security chip. The data can only be read through that board, so we repair the board to get the Mac running long enough to copy your files. You'll need your Mac login password.
Older MacBooks and Windows laptops
Many have a removable drive. If the laptop is dead but the drive is fine, we copy your files straight off it. If the drive itself is failing, we'll tell you what's possible before you pay anything.

Look for the Phone Plus kiosk at the entrance to Coles and Liquorland Warehouse. Bring your device straight to the counter. Most Apple repairs don't need a booking.
Parking is free. Tooronga Village has an undercover car park, so there's no hunting for a spot or paying for a meter like closer to the city.

Yes. There's no diagnostic fee, and you get a price before any work.
What do I get back?
Your files copied to a USB drive or an external drive you bring, or set up on your new computer.
How long does it take?
It depends on the damage. We'll tell you after we've looked at it.
Do you keep my files?
No. Once you have your data and are happy with it, we delete our working copy.
