When it needs fixing

  • Nothing happens when you press the power button
  • It won't charge, or the charger light doesn't come on
  • It powers on but the screen stays black and the keyboard stays dark
  • It restarts over and over, or stops at a progress bar
  • It stopped working after coffee, water or wine was spilled on it

We fix: MacBook Air · MacBook Pro · Liquid damaged MacBooks · Charging and USB-C faults

Board repair, not just board swaps

Many "dead" MacBooks have one failed part on the logic board: a charging chip, a short on a power line, or a corroded connector after a spill. Fixing that part at board level usually costs much less than a replacement board.

About your files

On Apple silicon and recent Intel MacBooks, the storage is built into the logic board and encrypted. That means files can only be read from the original board, so repairing it is often the only way to get them back. If your data matters most, tell us, and we'll put that first.

Spilled something on it?

Unplug it, hold the power button until it turns off, and don't try to switch it on again. Don't charge it. Bring it in as soon as you can, because corrosion keeps spreading while it sits.

Questions

MacBook not turning on FAQ

Do you charge to check it?

No. We check it for free and tell you what's wrong and what it costs before we do any work.

Can every MacBook be fixed?

Not every one, and we'll be honest about that. Most charging and power faults can be repaired. Heavy liquid damage is harder, and we'll tell you the chances before you decide.

How long does a board repair take?

It depends on the fault. Simple charging faults can be quick. Liquid damage takes longer to clean and test. We'll give you a time with the quote.

What warranty do I get?

3 months on the repair. It doesn't cover new liquid damage or drops.
