Soft OLED or Incell LCD: what's the difference?

Your iPhone 13 Pro Max came with an OLED screen. We offer two replacement options. Both are sharp, HD quality and work with touch and Face ID. The difference is how close they look and feel to the original.

Soft OLEDIncell LCD

Drag to compare. Look at the night sky: OLED shows true black, LCD looks slightly grey. Simulated example.

Soft OLED Recommended

  • Same display technology as the original screen
  • Deep, true blacks and rich colour
  • Thin and flexible, so it sits like the original
  • Uses less battery than an LCD on dark content

Incell LCD

  • Clear, high-definition display
  • Good value if you want a working phone for less
  • Backlit panel, so blacks look slightly grey in a dark room
  • Colours are a little less vivid than OLED

iPhone repairs in Glen Iris

More iPhone 13 Pro Max repairs we do

The iPhone 13 Pro Max came out in 2021, and phones that age start to show wear in ports, buttons and batteries. Here's what we see most often.

No signal, SIM, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth

SIM not detected, searching for signal, or Wi-Fi greyed out? These faults on the iPhone 13 Pro Max can be a simple fix or a board repair. We tell you which.

Power and volume buttons

Buttons that don't click are common after a drop. We repair the power button and volume buttons on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Back glass

Back glass cracks spread over time. Getting the iPhone 13 Pro Max's back replaced early keeps water and dust out.

Face ID and front camera

"Face ID is not available" after a drop or water? Ask us. The front camera and Face ID sensors on the iPhone 13 Pro Max can sometimes be repaired.

Not charging or charging port

Lightning ports on older iPhones like the iPhone 13 Pro Max collect lint that stops the cable clicking in. A careful clean often fixes it on the spot.

Water damage

Liquid causes corrosion that gets worse every hour. If your iPhone 13 Pro Max got wet, switch it off and bring it in. We open it, clean the board and tell you what we find.

Motherboard and no power

When an iPhone 13 Pro Max won't turn on, it isn't always the battery. We test the board, and we'll tell you honestly if a repair is worth it.

Data recovery

We recover data from iPhone 13 Pro Max phones that won't turn on, won't unlock or have liquid damage, where the chip is still readable.

Cameras, lens and flash

Blurry photos, a black camera screen or a flash that won't fire? We replace rear and front cameras, the camera lens glass and the flash on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Calls, speaker and microphone

If people say you sound far away on calls, the iPhone 13 Pro Max's microphone may be blocked or faulty. A free check tells us which.

Accessories. Need accessories too? We carry tempered glass screen protectors, cases (including MagSafe cases), Lightning cables, wall chargers and car mounts, and we can fit a screen protector for your iPhone 13 Pro Max while you wait.

Near you. We're in Tooronga Village, Glen Iris, a short drive from Prahran, South Yarra, Mount Waverley, Box Hill, Malvern East and Malvern.

Questions

iPhone 13 Pro Max repair FAQ

How long does an iPhone 13 Pro Max screen replacement take?

Usually about 30 minutes. You can leave your phone with us and shop at Tooronga Village while we work.

Do I need to book?

Most iPhone repairs don't need a booking. Send us an SMS first to confirm we have your part in stock.

Will I lose my photos and data?

A screen or battery replacement doesn't erase your device. We still recommend a backup before any repair.

What does the warranty cover?

Screens and most repairs have a 3 month warranty, and batteries have 6 months. It covers faults with the part. It doesn't cover new physical damage, such as a drop, or water damage.

Will my iPhone show a message about the new screen?

On recent iPhones, iOS shows an "Unknown Part" notice in Settings after any screen that isn't an Apple genuine part is fitted. The screen and touch still work normally.

How much do you charge to check my device?

Nothing. We don't charge a diagnostic fee.
